Blake Szemruk

I have been on the shop floor for 10 years, first starting out in an old school Barbers.
Where a clipper , a scissor & a comb was all you needed to work, as times go on they change and I throw myself forward to anything new. I now have my own barber shop and finally at where I want to be in life, so feel it's time to give something back.

I am the in your face honest guy that says what the rest are thinking that daren't.
What you see is what you get.

Iv been admining the barber banter page for around 10months, I'm one of the originals from when it 1st started as barber swap, and now we have an amazing page & website that is flowing every day! It's the place to be if you like your banter about our trade! I'm also a Matakki scissor ambassador where I get to speak to everyone day in day out about scissors! I'm like a kid in a sweet shop on barber banter.

Michelle Hutchinson

Michelle has been an administrator on Barber Banter since its very early days. She has worked in the hairdressing industry for over 32 years starting her training in 1984 in a large department store with Glemby International in the City of Bradford where she grew up and now lives in Leeds and has been for 20 years. Michelle has accumulated skills in European, Asian and Afro-Caribbean hair types and soon realised that barbering was her passion. She worked many years in a Horsforth barber shop until opening her own "GRADE 1" in the lovely market town of Otley.

Michelle told us "GRADE 1 has become very busy and successful and there's nothing I like more after a busy day than to relax at home. I love holidays abroad when I can and I love to do online shopping,,,, what woman doesn't?!"

Steve Wigg

Hi. My name is Steve Wigg and started barbering way back in 1982. I trained under a brilliant barber called Brian Braddock, who ran a 12 month Government Training program in Portsmouth. After completing the course I then worked at various places around Leicestershire, improving my technique and even working for a period in Sydney Australia.

I started my own business Razors Barber Shop in Leicester in 1995. A second shop quickly followed but after six years of travelling between to two, I decided to sell the shop and concentrate on the one shop and cutting out half the stress.

I also run three online businesses and although self taught, often build the odd website for local companies.
